Kaduna Police Thwart Attack, Take Out Bandits in Kuriga

Quick action by a mobile-police unit stationed in Kuriga, Kaduna State, prevented an attack on local farmers on Friday, May 17, 2024.  The unit, recently deployed to the Chikun County (Local Government Area), responded swiftly to distress calls about the attack on the village outskirts.

statement issued by Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, detailed the events.  The statement confirms that “two of the criminals were neutralized” during the exchange of gunfire.  “Forces recovered two AK47 rifles and 17 rounds of ammunition from the scene,” Aruwan added.

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani commended the police unit for their prompt response and successful operation.  The Governor also urged the police and other security forces to maintain this momentum to ensure the complete dislodgement of bandits in the State.
