Nigerian troops deployed in Plateau State have successfully secured the release of two abducted victims in a recent operation, putting an end to their harrowing ordeal.
Specific details surrounding the kidnapping are scarce, but Zagazola Makama reports that the rescue mission was on Monday, April 29. Army troops codenamed “Operation Safe Haven” reportedly received actionable intelligence about a kidnap operation along Maraban Jama’a road in Jos and launched a targeted operation to locate and rescue the victims.
The mission involved combing nearby bushes which led to the uncovering of a shelter housing a group of bandits and their victims, Mr. Abdul Bello, and Miss Sekyen Melody Yapshak. Both were rescued unhurt.
The report did not disclose any information about the duration of their captivity or whether the captors were either arrested or gunned down.
