President Tinubu Seeks Stronger Collaboration with FBI to Fight Cybercrime and Terrorism

President Bola Tinubu is pushing for stronger ties with the FBI to tackle cybercrime and terrorism in Nigeria. On Friday, he met with FBI Director Christopher Asher Wray at the State House to discuss boosting Nigeria’s capabilities in these areas.

This meeting highlights the ongoing partnership between Nigeria and the United States, aiming to leverage the FBI’s expertise and resources to address these threats more effectively.

President Tinubu praised the FBI’s reputation and expressed a desire to deepen the collaboration between Nigeria’s security agencies and the FBI.

“We cannot achieve this important feat of eliminating crimes without collaboration. Incidentally, as the Chairman of ECOWAS, Nigeria is also collaborating with other West African countries to fight economic and other related crimes,” Tinubu stated.

Director Wray assured Nigeria of the FBI’s support in areas such as counter-terrorism, cybercrime, kidnapping, joint investigations, and intelligence sharing.

Top Nigerian security officials, including the National Security Adviser, the Inspector-General of Police, and heads of the Department of State Services, Nigerian Intelligence Agency, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, were also present at the meeting.
