A devastating attack was carried out by terrorists on Monday in the peaceful community of Ewehko (Unguwar Paul) in Maro Ward, Kajuru County (Local Government Area) of Kaduna State. The brutal assault resulted in the tragic loss of five lives.
The attack occurred at approximately 2:14 p.m. local time, with the terrorists setting fire to the victims’ motorcycles. The deceased individuals were attending a village meeting at the time of the attack.
The bodies of four men and one woman have been discovered, and search efforts are ongoing in the surrounding bushes for others who may still be missing.
This incident exposes the persistent security issues plaguing southern Kaduna. The region has a long history of violence, often fueled by ethnic tensions and Muslim persecution of Christians. Community leaders are demanding increased security measures and solutions that address the root causes of the violence.
“To us, both President Bola Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani, and all the heads of the security agencies have abandoned us. If not, they should summon courage and stop this carnage now before it is too late,” a resident told BusinessDay.
