Nigerian Gamer Claims World Record with 75-Hour FIFA Marathon

Oside Oluwole, a 24-year-old Nigerian with a dual career as a biochemist and car dealer, has become a world record holder. Oluwole, known by his gamer tag “Khoded,” achieved the feat by playing the popular soccer video game FIFA for a staggering 75 hours straight.

This accomplishment surpasses the previous record of 50 hours set by Englishman David Whitefoot in 2022 by a significant margin.

“Unlike all seven previous record holders who played either FIFA or Pro Evolution Soccer during their attempts, Oside played mobile game Dream League Soccer 2023 on his iPhone, which he connected to a TV screen,” Guinness World Records commented. “He played over 500 matches during his record attempt.”

Oluwole’s achievement, which he undertook to raise funds for a local hospital in his hometown of Ijebu Ode, has been widely praised. Hon. Seun Adesanya of the Ogun State House of Assembly commended Oluwole’s dedication and determination, noting that his accomplishment serves as an inspiration to aspiring gamers.

“The Guinness World Records [title] is a testament to Mr Oluwole’s dedication, determination, and the countless hours of practice he invested in mastering the game,” the lawmaker added.
