The National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) have joined forces to combat terrorism in Nigeria. On Thursday, the two agencies signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at preventing violent extremism and terrorism.
NCTC National Coordinator Adamu Laka emphasized the significance of the collaboration, stating that terrorism threatens Nigeria’s security and stability. He noted that this joint effort aims to disrupt illicit networks, dismantle terrorist financing, and protect communities from the dangers of terrorism.
Lama also highlighted NAFDAC’s crucial role in regulating drugs, chemicals, and other controlled substances, which are often exploited in criminal activities. NAFDAC Director-General Mojisola Adeyeye echoed these sentiments.
This partnership marks a significant step in Nigeria’s efforts to address the growing threat of terrorism and to promote national security.
