Nigerian Air Force Wipes Out Terrorist Group

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reported the elimination of a notorious terrorist kingpin, Mustapha Abdullahi, and five of his associates in Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria.

The operation took place near Sabon Gida Forest along Sabon Birni Road in Igabi county (Local Government Area), following an intelligence report received on August 31, 2024. The report indicated that the group was likely planning to kidnap, harm, or kill civilians in the area.

In response to the threat, a team of Special Forces from the NAF’s 413 Force Protection Group was deployed to comb the location. Upon making contact with the terrorists, traveling on motorcycles, the group immediately opened fire. However, they were swiftly met with what the NAF described as “superior firepower,” resulting in the elimination of all six terrorists.

The operation also led to the recovery of several weapons and other items from the scene. Among the items recovered were five home-manufactured guns, a locally fabricated sub-machine gun, and live ammunition. Additionally, troops found assorted charms, lighters, SIM cards, and phone cases.

The Nigerian Air Force emphasized that efforts to rid Igabi, Birnin Gwari, and surrounding areas of criminal activities remain ongoing. Troops involved in the operation were commended for their successful mission and urged to “intensify ongoing efforts to safeguard lives and properties.”
