The Nigerian military announced on Friday that its troops killed 152 terrorists and arrested 109 during operations last week.
According to the Defense Headquarters, two strongholds of notorious terrorist leaders were also destroyed—one at the Sadiku enclave in Tsora Hill, Katsina State, and the other in the Alhaji Yusuf enclave within Yadi Forest, Kaduna State.
In a statement, Director of Media Operations Maj. Edward Buba highlighted the military’s ongoing efforts. “The war against terrorists, insurgents, violent extremists, and others perpetrating insecurity in the country wages on, and troops are sustaining the momentum to achieve victory,” Buba said. “Indeed, the armed forces are steadily progressing towards the goal of destruction of all these elements.”
Buba emphasized that the military is continually adapting to better address the threats posed by these terror groups. “Troops are moving in against the terrorists and denying them freedom of action,” he stated.
He added that last week’s operations also led to the rescue of 91 hostages.
