President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja following a two-week diplomatic trip to China and the United Kingdom.
He arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport late Sunday, September 15, and was greeted by key government officials, including Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu.
During his trip, which began on August 29, Tinubu met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. The two leaders signed five partnership deals aimed at boosting trade, infrastructure, media cooperation, and security.
Tinubu expressed his commitment to replicating China’s infrastructure development in Nigeria. Among the projects discussed was a $1 billion iron ore-to-steel project for Kogi State and a 68-kilometer Green rail line in Lagos.
Afterward, the President traveled to the UK, where he met with King Charles III to discuss climate change and environmental sustainability.
