The Nigerian Army announced the arrest of eight suspects involved in supplying arms and logistics to terrorists in Taraba, Kaduna, and Yobe states.
On August 30, troops, in collaboration with other security agencies, raided hideouts in Mararaba Donga and Manya villages in Taraba, resulting in five arrests. Recovered items included AK-47 rifles, fabricated rifles, ammunition, and various other weapons.
In Yobe State, three Boko Haram logistics suppliers were arrested in Jimbal village. “During preliminary investigation, the suspects revealed that they had been in the business for more than two years,” the army stated. Troops recovered vehicles, motorcycles, spare parts, and a cash sum of ₦48,000 ($30).
In a related operation in Kaduna State, four terrorist gun runners were arrested in Rijana village, with troops seizing ammunition, mobile phones, recharge cards, and over ₦1.5 million ($943).
Nigeria’s Army Chief Taoreed Lagbaja commended the troops and urged them to maintain their efforts in ensuring national safety.
