Bandits struck in Kebbi State over the weekend, attacking the Kanya community in the Danko/Wasagu County (Local Government Area). In the latest incident, the district head, Alhaji Isah Daya, was abducted along with seven others. The attack, which took place on Saturday, resulted in the death of one resident and injuries to three others.
The Kebbi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Abubakar, confirmed the incident and stated that a combined security team is on the hunt for the abductors. Governor Nasiru Idris has expressed concern over the abduction and assured the public that the state government is working to secure the release of the abducted individuals.
This attack follows a similar incident just two days earlier when bandits killed the APC chairman of Suru Local Government Area and abducted one person in a separate attack.
