Acting Army Chief Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede has issued a stern warning to terrorists and other criminals in Nigeria, vowing intensified military action against them.
“Nobody has a monopoly of violence besides those of us in uniform,” Oluyede said during an event on Wednesday at the Jaji Military Cantonment in Kaduna.
Nigeria continues to grapple with significant security challenges, including insurgency, banditry, and armed groups such as the newly emerging Lakurawa group, which has been linked to recent attacks in the country’s north. The group’s activities, alongside ongoing threats from bandits and Boko Haram jihadists, have heightened tensions in affected regions.
“For the criminals out there, they should be ready for a good run from us because we are going to go all out for them,” he added, assuring that citizens will be secured under his watch.
