Four Arrested in Katsina for Allegedly Supplying Bandits with Military Uniforms

The Nigerian police have arrested a suspected terrorism financier and three others accused of aiding armed bandits in Katsina State, Northwest Nigeria.

Aminu Hassan, 25, was apprehended on November 19 during a routine patrol, police spokesperson Abubakar Sadiq announced.

“Hassan was found in possession of two pairs of military uniforms neatly concealed in a black polythene bag,” Sadiq said. The uniforms are to help bandits disguise themselves during criminal activities.

Further investigation led to the arrest of three more suspects: Lawal M. Ahmad, 29; Isma’il Dalhatu, 24; and Shafi’u Adamu, 28. The suspects are from Kaduna State, located about 152 miles from Katsina, where the arrests were made.

“Fourteen pairs of military uniforms and one police uniform were recovered from the suspects, which are believed to be intended for delivery to the armed bandits for their criminal operations,” Sadiq added.

Authorities said the arrests are part of ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, kidnapping, and banditry in Katsina and surrounding areas.
