An urgent security alert has been issued following reports of armed bandits mobilizing in the eastern region of Sokoto State, Northwest Nigeria. The alert, shared by counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, reveals that about 20 armed bandits on motorcycles have been sighted.
The bandits reportedly moved from the Bula area towards Kuka Tara, crossing through Girnashe. Their suspected destination is Lalle/Tsamaye, raising fears for the safety of nearby communities, including Sabon Birni and surrounding settlements. These areas are often vulnerable to banditry and other security challenges due to their proximity to forests and border regions.
Zagazola Makama have yet to confirm any immediate actions and whether efforts are underway to counter the threat and safeguard affected areas. Local residents and security forces have been advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to prevent potential attacks.
