Bloody Ethno-Religious Cleansing Intensifies without Military Intervention

(Makurdi) Despite prayers by Pope Leo XIV and urgent calls by U.S. Congressional leader Chris Smith, the shadowy armed Fulani ethnic militias have killed 11 more Christians in continuation of their ethno-religious cleansing campaign across three Benue counties since late August.
The affected communities include Turan in Kwande County (Local Government Area), Goh in Gwer-West County and Ayilamo in Logo County.
Fulani Jihadists Kill 5 in Turan, Cut off Teenager’s Ear
Armed Fulani Ethnic Militia on Thursday, September 4, 2025 ambushed and killed 5 Christian farmers while returning from their farms. The attackers also chopped off an ear of 5-year-old boy
“On Thursday, September 4, 2025 at about 4:35 pm, about 15 well-armed Fulani militia, shouting Allahu Akbar and speaking Fulfulde language, attacked a group of farmers who were returning home from their various farms in my community (Turan) in Kwande LGA (county) of Benue State, killing 5 and abducted one of them,” according to Solomon Amande, former senior special assistant to a former Governor told TruthNigeria.
Amande gave details of the gruesome murder of 5 Christian farmers in his community.
Those killed include: Mfana Igbana, Tartenger Achiagh, Aondofa Tagher and Myavga Desuen. One unidentified corpse was also recovered.
The attackers reportedly came from a mountainous area of the Nigeria-Cameroonian border also cut off ear of a 5-year-old boy during the attack.
“15 of the farmers are still missing while the injured are receiving medical treatments at various health centers in Turan”, Amande said.
Fulani Jihadists Kill 2 Christian Farmers in Goh, Gwer-West
Another group of Fulani terrorists on Thursday, Sept. 4, invaded Goh village in Gwer-West county, few minutes after the visit of Gwer-West County Chairman Victor Torsar Ormin to a ruined rice farm attacked earlier by Fulani terrorists.

Victor Ormin, Gwer-West County Chairman, while confirming the attack in a phone interview with TruthNigeria said, “the incident happened on Thursday, August 28, 2025, after my visit to a farm earlier destroyed by Fulani terrorists. The terrorists ambushed and killed a middle-aged man identified as Monday Orlovuu and his friend while working in their rice farm at Goh 4km away from Naka town, Gwer-West LGA (county). This is the agony we have been facing for more than 13 years”, Ormin.
Vanguard called the attackers “armed herders” but without citing their Fulani ethnicity, in accordance with near universal compliance of Nigerian media to avoid identifying the ethnicity of the Fulani ethnic militia who murder Christian farmers throughout Nigeria’s Middle Belt with near impunity, according to the Observatory for Religious Freedom in Africa (ORFA).
4 Killed in another Week of Terror and Bloodbath in Ayilamo, Logo
It was another week of tears and mourning for Christians farmers in Ayilamo Precinct in Logo County of Benue State as Fulani Terrorists again, killed 4 Christian farmers.
One Christian farmer identified as Mr. Mondu Klimishi was slashed to death by 10 well-armed Fulani Ethnic Militia in his rice farm located along Tse-Azaye road (outskirt of Ayilamo) on Friday, August 22, 2025.
Similarly, dead bodies of Mr. Theophilus Kaanafam Nyamikyume, Ortwer Ayolave and one unidentified corpse were discovered in the bush on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, a day after Fulani Jihadists unleashed mayhem on Oragbai community, Mbagum kindred of Tombo precinct on Monday, August 25, 2025, bringing the total death toll to 4.
Police Forewarned of Influx of Fulani Terrorists — Eyewitness
Umishi Manasseh Terungwa, Ayilamo Community Youth Leader and an eyewitness in an interview with TruthNigeria, painted a heart-wrenching picture of the attacks, adding that the gruesome murders were perpetrated by Fulani terrorists from Akwana community in neighboring Taraba State.
“On Friday, August 22, 2025, about 10 well-armed Fulani terrorists, shouting Allahu Akbar at about 9:20 am (10:20 HGMT), ambushed Mr. Mondu Klimishi and slashed him to death in his rice farms along Tse-Azaye road, Ayilamo,” Terungwa told TruthNigeria.
“As if that was not enough, another group of Fulani terrorists, numbering about 15 and speaking Fulfulde on Monday, August 25, 2025, at about 3:30 pm macheted Mr. Theophilus Kaanafam Nyamikyume, Ortwer Ayolave and one other farmer in their farms in Oragbai community,” Terungwa added. “Their corpses were discovered in the early hours of Tuesday, August 26, 2025.”
“We reported to the police and the military of mass influx of armed Fulani militia from Akwana community in Taraba State into Tiv deserted villages such as Tse-Jigam, Tse-Ibor, Tse-Ukpukuru in Mbawien Clan in the same Tombo Precinct a week before the attacks, but no action was taken to thwart the attacks”, Umishi alleged.
Logo County Chairman Reacts to Attacks, Killings

Kav Clement Ungwacii, Logo County Chairman, in his reaction to the latest round of attacks and killings while speaking in a phone interview with TruthNigeria, decried the incessant attacks and killings by Fulani Militia in the Riverine and bordering communities in Logo County.
“There were several attacks by Fulani terrorists on some villages in Ayilamo, Tombo Council Ward (county) between Friday and Monday, resulting in the death of 4 persons, whose corpses have been recovered and buried,” Ungwacii said.
“Logo like Ukum and Katsina-Ala, which are referred to as Sankera, were relatively peaceful for the past 3 to 5 months until these latest attacks,” the County Chairman said.
“The military, Police and other security agencies stationed in Ayilamo are doing their best but need additional operatives, more sophisticated weapons, and equipment such as drones for better performance”, Kav Clement said.
Benue, an agrarian and a predominantly Christian State (99 percent Christian 98 percent Catholic) with a population of 4.3 million, is famous for its massive harvests of rice, maize, yam, cassava, beans, Soya mills, and fruits, is in the Central Nigeria, also known as the Middle Belt region of Nigeria
The Christian State of Benue along with other Middle belt states has come under frequent attacks, kidnappings and killings since 2013 by Fulani ethnic militia, whose leadership has never been identified by federal officials or Nigerian media. The Fulani tribe known across West Africa for cattle-herding and linkage to regional jihad wars. According to ORFA, the Fulani ethnic militia have been responsible for 55,000 deaths in the last four years
