Bandits kill soldier, abduct 10 civilians in Kaduna

Nigerian media reported last Friday that bandits who raided a village in Kaduna, a state in Northwest Nigeria, shot a yet-to-be-identified soldier dead.

The soldier, villagers told Daily Trust, had travelled from neighboring Niger State to visit his relatives when he met his unfortunate death.

“The bandits’ leader opened fire and killed the soldier after they tried to whisk him away alongside the others, as the soldier refused to cooperate with them,” a source, Danjuma Saleh said.

The motorbike-riding gunmen raided the community, Anguwar Tudu in Kaduna’s Azzara village, on December 2 around 11:00 p.m. local time.

A family of three, a couple and their child, were forcefully seized; but the wife was later freed. Eight other villagers were also taken captive.
