Gunmen, suspected to be armed robbers, rampaged Ode-Remo and Ipara-Remo communities in Ogun State last Saturday (Nov. 2), killing a student. Several students were hit by bullets and some female students were raped.
The victims are students of Gateway (ICT) Polytechnic residing outside the campus. The robbers reportedly used heavy stones to break burglar-proof windows and doors to force their way into the students’ rooms, according to Daily Trust.
The gunmen shot haphazardly during the operation. Valuables and money of students were stolen. Students who spoke to the Punch said they were now at the mercy of hoodlums terrorizing the area.
