A fire outbreak at the headquarters of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in Sokoto State late Sunday destroyed a part of the building. The inferno, sparked by a high electricity voltage, raged for over three hours but did not do much damage.
The studio of the national television station and other sensitive operational areas were spared. “The OB (outside broadcasting) van, equipment and office furniture have also been saved from the inferno,” a post on NTA’s social media pages read. Staff of the media house teamed up with firefighters to put off the fire.
