The Claretian Missionaries (CMF) in Nigeria is appealing for the safety and freedom of two members, who were abducted during an all-too-familiar night bandit raid at their rectory on February 1.
In a statement issued on February 2, the provincial secretary of the CMF, Rev. Fr Dominic Ukpo announced with “sadness” the abduction of Rev. Fr Kenneth Kanwa and his assistant, Rev. Fr Jude Nwachukwu.
Fr Kanwa is the parish priest of St. Vincent De Paul Fier Parish of Pankshin Diocese in crisis-torn Plateau State.
“The abduction happened at the parish rectory on the night of Thursday, 1st of February, 2024,” Fr Ukpong says.
He appealed for spiritual solidarity, saying, “We solicit your prayers at this challenging time for their safety and quick release from captivity.”
