President Bola Tinubu’s wife, Oluremi Tinubu is full of hopes that the economic challenges in Nigeria as a result of her husband’s policies would soon be history.
Mrs Tinubu wants Nigeria to share in her optimism. “The hardship situation is temporary; it will soon fade away,” said the First Lady on Monday when she hosted the wives of State governors in Abuja.
Nigerians are faced with soaring gas, food and transportation prices. Tinubu is still struggling to bring the ballooning inflation under control. Time and again, he has asked Nigerians to be patient with him as he works to address the situation.
A protest broke out in Minna, the capital city of Niger State in the early hours of Monday as residents could no longer keep silent amidst the government’s inaction.
But the First Lady remains unfazed. 2024 is a year of “peace, progress, prosperity and greater achievement” for Nigerians, she remarked.
