Opposition Says Tinubu Lacks Capacity to Lead Nigeria

Nigeria’s leading opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has blamed President Bola Tinubu and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) for what it calls an “excruciating suffering” of Nigerians.

The PDP national publicity secretary, Debo Ologunagba, said President Tinubu’s ill-informed and ill-implemented policies have resulted in “extreme hunger, hopelessness and desperation as evident in the protests, agitation and rising spate of suicide across the country.”

The worsening living conditions of Nigerians, said the PDP, shows that the APC and Tinubu “are completely overwhelmed and lack the capacity and competence to lead a nation like Nigeria.”

The party’s statement is in corroboration of an earlier call for Tinubu’s resignation by state governors elected under the PDP platform. The 13 governors asked Tinubu to “graciously throw in the towel” if he has no solution to the pervasive economic crisis and insecurity rocking the country.
