Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has said he has done his best for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the state threatening to join forces with Boko Haram jihadists to attack communities.
Chad Basin security and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama posted a video of IDPs in Dikwa town lamenting the widespread economic hardship that has greatly affected them.
The IDPs said the terrorists were making grand offers to anyone who joins them, and if the authorities continued to neglect them, they would march to the forests and pick up arms.
The protest in Dikwa on Friday caused the IDPs at the resettlement site in Mafa also to speak up on Sunday.
Zulum while addressing the grievances on Sunday afternoon said he would “not condone mischievous acts by anyone” because the government is trying its best to feed the people despite the economic conditions.
“If you think life in the bush is better than living here, you can go,” the Governor said.
