Military Frees 16 Hostages from Terrorists’ Den

Troops of the Nigerian Army (NA) reportedly rescued 16 abducted victims in Kajuru, Kaduna State.

statement by the director of NA public relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, said the military tracked the terrorists to their undisclosed hideout in Tantatu village of Kajuru where they held the hostages bound.

The operation on March 17 witnessed a “ferocious exchange of fire” between the terrorists and the military officers,” according to Nwachukwu who did not say if the terrorists were killed, but only noted that every hostage in the den was rescued unhurt.

“The troops are still exploiting the bushes in continuation of the search and rescue operations to extricate other victims and balk the nefarious activities of the insurgents,” he added.
