The Nigerian Army (NA) authorities have said its troops gunned down a notorious terrorist leader named Maikusa in a gun duel in Batsari county in the Northwest sector of Katsina State.
Maikusa was the second-in-command of the terrorist cell led by another notorious terrorist, Modi Modi, whom the police are pursuing, according to police. Modi has a N50 million bounty on his head, as earlier reported by TruthNigeria.
Maikusa was slain alongside three other outlaws on Monday, March 4, NA spokesman Onyema Nwachukwu said yesterday. Other terrorists escaped with their weapons.
The troops destroyed the deserted camps. They also went on to raze several other terrorist camps in Wurma, Shaiskawa, Yauni, and Dogon Marke villages in Kurfi county, as well as Ummadau and Zakka villages in Safana County, all approximately 60 miles southwest of Katsina City, the capital.
The Nigerian military has given no update about the 63 women kidnapped on the road to Dan Musa on Feb. 2 and held in a kidnapper stronghold in Yan Tumaki Forest 23 miles southeast of Dan Musa, as reported by TruthNigeria.
