Notorious Bandit Leader Kachalla Makore Killed by Nigerian Security Forces

Nigerian security forces have killed notorious bandit leader Kachalla Makore and several of his fighters in a recent operation in Zamfara State. The incident took place along the Kwankele road in the Magami area of Gusau County on Sunday, September 23, 2024.

Zagazola Makama reports that Kachalla Makore and his men were heading to retrieve the body of fellow bandit leader Kachalla Sani Black, who had been killed earlier in the Dan Sadau area of Maru County. Sani Black was taken down in Magama Mai Rake, a well-known hotspot for bandit activity.

Kachalla Makore rose to prominence following the death of his predecessor, Kachalla Damuna, and became notorious for leading criminal operations around Kangon Garacci village in the Dan Gulbi area, also in Maru County.

This operation is part of the Nigerian government’s continued efforts to dismantle the leadership of bandit groups and reduce violent crime across the North West region of the country.
