Terrorists Continue Islamization of Plateau State with Palm Sunday Attack

By TruthNigeria Staff

(Jos) On Palm Sunday, less than two weeks after terrorists slaughtered more than 50 civilians across five Christian villages south of Jos, another wave of violence on April 13 killed more than 50 people. Local sources report the attack targeted sleeping residents 15 miles west of Jos, resulting in at least 50 fatalities, with several others still missing, according to local youth leader Ezekiel Bini.

The scene of the incident is less than five miles from a 2,000-man army base in Bassa county, but soldiers arrived several hours after the attackers had fled, local residents told TruthNigeria.

The victims include nine family members of TruthNigeria reporters.

At least 100 Christians have been reported killed in two weeks of ongoing terror attacks near Jos, the capital of Plateau State in Northcentral Nigeria. The latest violence on April 12-13 claimed at least 50 lives in Bassa and Bokkos counties, TruthNigeria has learned.

“So far, we have recovered 50 dead bodies,” said Bini. “They include eight members of one family who were slaughtered in their home.”

TruthNigeria has confirmed that the eight victims were relatives of Lawrence Zongo, a dedicated reporter for the outlet. “They are my wife’s family members, and she is devastated,” Zongo said. “I counted more than 47 dead bodies, and I couldn’t control my tears, so I stopped.”

The attack in the farming village of Zikke was launched just hours after the burial of another family member of a TruthNigeria reporter who was killed in an ambush approximately 40 miles away.

Mr. Julius Mangai, a civilian guard leader and cousin to TruthNigeria’s Masara Kim, was ambushed shortly before sunset on April 12 near his village of Butura Kampani in Bokkos county. Locals report Mangai had bravely led several battles against invading Fulani terrorists in Butura Kampani, including a notable confrontation on January 17, 2024 that resulted in the deaths of dozens of terrorists, reported by TruthNigeria.

Local leaders believe Mangai was targeted in an attack aimed at increasing the vulnerability of residents.
