Abuja Director Kidnapped Near Military Camp

The director of Abuja’s Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Aondo Ver, has been abducted, local media reports.

Multiple reports say armed bandits stormed his residential estate in Pambara in the Bwari Area Council of Abuja early Thursday morning, firing sporadically. Bwari has come under intense attacks by marauding bandits.

The estate is guarded by both military and civilian officers. Ver’s residence is at least 124 miles from a military post.

Yet, the gun-bearing bandits struck and operated unchallenged for nearly an hour. Despite the intermittent gunshots in the area, the security officers could not come to the rescue.

A resident of the estate told the PUNCH, “The attack is still shocking to us. Our estate is very close to the military base here known as “camp” at the entrance of Bwari. And there are also serving and retired military personnel living with us here, yet these bandits were bold enough to attack this place and kidnap Mr Ver.”

Ezinwanne Onwuka reports for TruthNigeria from Abuja.
