Armed terrorists launched a relentless assault on villages including Garau, Maggi, and Wang in the west of Bokkos county, starting Monday January 29 at 6 pm local time.
Despite being 45 miles south of Jos, the state capital, and three miles from a forward operating base in Bokkos town, the farm villages faced simultaneous attacks for hours, with no military intervention reported.
Gunshots still echo in the hilltop villages, leaving an unknown number of casualties.
A policewoman, native to the area, emotionally confirmed to TruthNigeria the death of her uncle during the attacks.
The situation remains tense and alarming.
