Nigerian Military Airstrikes Eliminate 3 Terrorist Leaders in Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) scored a significant victory against extremist groups in Borno State on April 13th, with airstrikes successfully eliminating three key terrorist kingpins. A statement by NAF spokesman Edward Gabkwet earlier today revealed the slain terrorist commanders as Ali Dawud, Bakura Fallujah, and Mallam Ari.

This operation comes amidst ongoing efforts by the Nigerian military, codenamed Operation Hadin Kai, to combat terrorism in the northeastern region. The airstrikes were conducted based on credible intelligence and targeted identified insurgent hideouts within Kolleram village along the shores of Lake Chad.

“By neutralizing key terrorist figures and destroying their logistical infrastructure, the operation has significantly degraded the capabilities of the ISWAP group in the region,” said Gabkwet.

The NAF spokesman said additional insurgents, numbering more than 30, were also confirmed killed alongside the targeted leaders. “Intelligence gathered after the air strike further indicated that the aerial bombardment effectively obliterated a key facility within the Kolleram enclave, which served as a hub for the terrorists’ food processing activities, including grinding machines,” Gabkwet added.
