URGENT TERROR ALERT: Mangun District, Mangu County, Others

Date: January 1, 2026
Subject: High-Level Threat Warning – Imminent Planned Attacks

Credible intelligence obtained by TruthNigeria indicates that armed Fulani groups are planning coordinated attacks on Christian communities within the Mangun district of Mangu County, approximately 55–60 miles southeast of Jos. Adjoining communities in Mangu, Bokkos and Barkin Ladi counties also have been assessed to be at high risk due to the high tendency of terrorists to launch diversionary attacks and/or change targets at the 11th hour depending on anticipated response from locals.

Nature of the Threat

Following the deadly New Year’s Eve attack in the town of Bum (Vwang district, Jos South) which resulted in 12 fatalities, intelligence suggests that attackers are shifting their focus. This planned move toward Mangun is a tactical diversion intended to draw law enforcement and military resources away from the Jos South and Riyom axes.

While early warnings and community resistance in the Jos South area recently helped villagers push back invaders and inflict casualties on the attacking forces, the threat has now been redirected toward your district to bypass heightened security in the capital’s outskirts.

Areas of Heightened Vigilance

While the primary target is the Mangun district, all surrounding communities in Mangu County, Bokkos county and even Riyom county should remain on high alert. This shift follows failed or resisted attempts in Bum, a village targeted after advance warnings of attacks in:

· Farin Lamba (Tutu)

· Kuru Trade Centre

· Kwara (Jos South)

· BECO Community (Kwi district, Riyom)

Recommended Immediate Actions

Residents and local leaders are urged to implement the following safety measures immediately:

1.    Activate Community Watch: Re-establish or strengthen local emergency response groups and communication chains.

2.    Monitor Ingress Points: Increase surveillance on paths and roads leading into the district, especially during night hours.

3.    Report Suspicious Activity: Immediately notify the nearest military or police outpost of any unusual movements or sightings of unidentified groups.

4.    Secure Vulnerable Groups: Ensure that women, children, and the elderly are in defensible or high-visibility areas.

5.    Coordinate with Neighbors: Maintain “Early Warning” communication with neighboring villages to share real-time updates.

Security agencies have been advised, but community-level preparedness is critical for effective defense and response.

Note to Residents: Recent events in Bum prove that advance warning and prepared response save lives. Do not ignore this alert; remain vigilant and organized.
