(Maiduguri) — Information reaching TruthNigeria from several security sources and local residents indicates that residents of Maiduguri should be on alert regarding increased threat of terrorist attacks any time between (March 14, 2026) and the upcoming Eid-el-Fitr celebration( 19th and 20th March, 2026).
Although a recent rumor of suicide bomber threats has been denied as fake news (by Zagazola Makama) this alert applies due to intense, frequent attacks by Boko Haram and allies in the outlying regions of Borno, including towns near Gwoza and Damasak.
Suspected Boko Haram terrorists may have secretly entered Maiduguri town and are concealed as sleeper cells.
According to the information received, the terrorists are believed to be planning multiple attacks at the same time on selected targets within the city.
Sources warned that the attackers may try to strike places where crowds gather or locations that have strategic importance.
Possible targets may include:
· Military and other security formations,
· International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs),
· Mosques and churches Schools.
· Marketplaces and busy public areas
Residents of Maiduguri are advised to remain very vigilant and immediately report any suspicious persons or movements to security authorities.
