Security Alert: Suspected Boko Haram Movement in Oyo State

Residents along the Igbeti–Igboho corridor are urged to stay vigilant after attackers burned a security post and moved in large numbers through rural communities.

OYO STATE, Nigeria — Residents and motorists in parts of Oyo State have been urged to remain vigilant after suspected Boko Haram fighters were seen moving in large numbers along the Igbeti–Igboho Road, according to local security sources. The warning follows a dawn attack on an Operation Burst security post, where gunmen burned the facility, destroyed a vehicle, and stole a generator and motorcycles before disappearing into nearby rural routes.

The attackers reportedly set the security facility and an abandoned vehicle ablaze before carting away a generator and motorcycles.

The movement of suspected terrorists in significant numbers raises concerns about possible further attacks in communities linking Olorunsogo and Oorelope Local Government Areas.

Residents are advised to avoid isolated routes, report suspicious movements to security authorities, and exercise extreme caution, particularly during the early morning and night hours.

Stay Vigilant. Stay informed. Report suspicious activity immediately.
