KADUNA, Nigeria — A notorious Fulani Ethnic Militia (FEM), known only as “Yellow One Million”, may still be engaged in mass kidnapping, extortion and murder, despite being declared a “repentant” bandit by the Kaduna State Government, TruthNigeria findings show.
Celebrated By The Government
In November 2025, Kaduna State Commissioner of Information, Ahmed Maiyaki, addressed a press conference on what he claimed to be the success of a controversial amnesty granted to FEM kingpins and their foot soldiers in 2024.
“Former bandit leaders such as ‘Jan Bros’b and ‘Yellow One Million’, now serve as community peace mediators helping to maintain stability in previously volatile areas,” Maiyaki had gleefully declared.
But in August 2026, Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Mohammed, paraded suspected kidnappers and gun runners at the State Police Command Headquarters in Kaduna.
He Still Receives Munitions – Police
“Police operatives intercepted a motorcyclist who was reportedly moving suspiciously while carrying a sack,” Mohammed said. “Upon searching the sack, the operatives discovered the ammunition concealed inside.
“During interrogation, the suspect confessed that he was sent by a notorious armed bandit known as Yellow Mai-Million to collect and convey the ammunition to him,” he said.
Yellow Still In Charge Of Bandits Camps – Survivors
Meanwhile, some hostages who either escaped or whose ransom was paid for their release from camps around notorious bandit strongholds near Rijana in Chikun County in Southern Kaduna claimed that Yellow One Million is still in charge of many of the camps.
“Anyone saying that Yellow One Million has repented from kidnapping does not know anything about him today,” said a former hostage of Yellow One Million to TruthNigeria in Kaduna last Monday.
“I have personally seen him several times when he came around to see us and warn us of the consequences of not paying ransom or if we tried escaping,” said the victim, who asked that his name not be mentioned for his security.
Camps Made To Depopulate Christians
Again, survivors of the April 6, 2026, Easter Sunday mass kidnapping of churchgoers from Ariko village in Kachia County confirmed to TruthNigeria that Yellow One Million is still in charge of the bandit camp where they were kept.
“It is actually a death camp deliberately made to depopulate the Christian areas and to also enrich the Fulani terrorists,” said Mr Yohana Ishaku, 67, one of the few who came back after 20 out of the 37 who were kidnapped died in the bandits’ camp.
“I don’t believe that the devil can be as heartless and wicked as those people. And Yellow is the only one that could control them when he came around,” he said.
Death Camps of Yellow One Million
Corroborating Yohana’s position, Reuben Buhari, former Press Secretary to former Kaduna State Governor, Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, reported on Facebook the heart-wrenching account of the fate of hostages kidnapped from his village, Awon, about 3 miles from Ariko. He said that Yellow One Million was the boss of the camp.
“The little girl in the first picture, Sylvia Samuel, 3 years old, had been held captive for over 190 days now and is dead, joining her 14-year-old sister.”
He wrote that their mother had died earlier in the kidnappers’ camp after giving birth to a child who also died.
“Recall that 11 people were kidnapped on April 20th from Awon village in Kachia LGA. “One person later escaped. Eight of the victims have now died, leaving only two people alive who have spent 190 days in captivity as of today,” he said.
Those still being held, according to him, are Faith Kefas, female, 14, and Hanatu Yusuf, female, 50.
“The bandit kingpin known as Yellow One Million, who controls all kidnapping activities and owns all the kidnappers’ camps in Kachia and part of Kajuru, personally confirmed to a recent female escapee that he has killed many of them.”
He then posted pictures of five of the eight who have died in the kidnapper’s camp.
Govts Have Sold Us To Yellow One Million – Head of IDPs
Ado Alipiri, Chairman of Internally Displaced Persons of Kajuru LGA, who spoke to TruthNigeria from Kajuru on Tuesday, said that neither Kaduna State nor the Federal Government intends to stop Yellow One Million by apprehending him, rescuing his victims and disbanding his camp.
“We are tired of informing the government about all the camps and even the movements of Yellow One Million and his Fulani terrorists,” he said.
“We know their exact places where they are keeping our people and we even know some of the criminal Fulani involved in it because some of them were born and raised here,” he said.
“Just yesterday, Yellow One Million released seven out of the 16 persons that they kidnapped from their farms in Kwataru station when they went to harvest their crops last month. We gave him 11 motorbikes and money.
Breaks Agreements With Communities
“Even the villagers that have agreed to be paying him money so that they can farm and harvest are not spared,” he said.
“After paying and farming, his boys will still kidnap you when you come to harvest. And that’s after you have also paid to harvest your crop,” he lamented.
“There are still hundreds of hostages in his camps and he is making billions from kidnapping and he is expanding every day,” he said.
‘Small Boy’ To Big Bandit
“Yellow is a small boy of about thirty-something years. He was born around Kallah close to Kasuwan Magani in Kajuru LGA. His father and relatives have their huts there and they had lots of cattle,” he said.
“Then one day, the father and all the Fulani left. Then we heard that Yellow had joined bandits. So we know him,” he said.
“I have a feeling that we have been sold to these terrorists to do what they like with us,” he said.
