Armed Fulani Ethnic Militia (FEM) Convoys Advancing Toward Multiple Christian Communities
Multiple convoys of motorcycles carrying armed Fulani Ethnic Militia (FEM) fighters have been sighted advancing toward various Christian communities south of Jos, the capital of Plateau State.
As of 18:00 GMT on 30 June 2026, three Christian residents have been killed in ongoing attacks in the Gyel District of Jos South Local Government Area. The victims were reportedly shot during attacks carried out by suspected FEM fighters.
Residents have reported that an estimated 300 FEM fighters traveling on several hundred motorcycles, with approximately **three armed men per motorcycle**, have been observed moving from the hills near the town of Rafin Bauna9°52’03.94″N 8°47’09.94″E. This area has repeatedly been identified by local residents as a staging area for attacks against communities in **Gyel, Gero, and Rantya** in southern Jos.
Separately, another convoy consisting of approximately 7–10 motorcycles, each carrying three armed men, was reportedly observed departing from an area southwest of the Jos Airport. The convoy is believed to be moving toward a staging area along the border between Barkin Ladi and Mangu Local Government Areas, with possible attacks targeting communities in Mangu and Barkin Ladi, particularly the Fan District.
