50 ARMED MEN REPORTEDLY APPROACH WAIWAYI AS RESIDENTS FLEE

SECURITY ALERT: WAIWAYI VILLAGE, KOKO/BESSE LGA, KEBBI STATE, NIGERIA | OCTOBER 29, 2026

Residents of Waiwayi Village in Koko/Besse Local Government Area of Kebbi State reportedly fled their homes ahead of a suspected Lakurawa terrorist attack at approximately 7:25 a.m. Thursday, October 29, after receiving warnings of an impending assault.

A farmer who observed the armed men from a farm several kilometers from the community told TruthNigeria that approximately 50 men were travelling on motorcycles and carrying AK-47 rifles.

The resident’s account adds detail to earlier reports of the threat, although the attackers’ identity, precise movements and intended destination have not been independently verified.

EARLY WARNING REPORTEDLY ALLOWS RESIDENTS TO FLEE

A resident who sent a video of the incident to TruthNigeria said security sources had been contacted after warnings of an impending attack reached the community.

Residents reportedly fled before the armed men could close in. No casualties had been reported in the information received by TruthNigeria at the time of writing.

The circumstances surrounding the warning, whether the attackers entered the village, and whether the threat had passed remain unclear.

ATTACKERS’ DIRECTION OF MOVEMENT UNKNOWN

The direction from which the armed men approached Waiwayi and their subsequent movements remain unspecified. They may have been heading toward forested areas or previously attacked communities, but no specific forest, border crossing or destination has been confirmed.

Residents of Waiwayi and neighbouring communities should remain vigilant, take credible security warnings seriously and follow instructions from recognised security authorities.

VERIFICATION STATUS

The reported attack time of 7:25 a.m., the estimated number of armed men, their motorcycles and weapons, and the reported absence of casualties are based on accounts received by TruthNigeria.
