SECURITY ALERT: GWOZA LGA, BORNO STATE, NIGERIA | OCTOBER 25, 2026
An influx of Boko Haram terrorists has reportedly been observed around the Mandara Mountains in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, raising fears of possible further attacks following failed coordinated assaults on Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps on October 24.

According to intelligence sources who spoke with TruthNigeria, the attempted attacks on the IDP camps were thwarted after soldiers reportedly neutralized terrorists operating in the Mandara Mountains, an area known to contain insurgent hideouts. The sources described the reported influx as an arrival of “defectors” from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) faction, raising concerns about possible regrouping and renewed militant activity.
The intelligence has heightened concerns over the security of vulnerable communities in Gwoza, particularly those near insurgent routes and hideouts. TruthNigeria has not independently verified the reported influx or the intelligence warning of possible further attacks.
RED ALERT COMMUNITIES: Pulka, Izge and Ngoshe are identified as areas requiring heightened vigilance and urgent security assessment amid fears of renewed terrorist activity.
SAFETY ADVISORY: Residents should remain alert, avoid unnecessary travel through isolated roads and areas near known insurgent hideouts, and promptly report suspicious movements to security agencies and trusted community leaders. IDP camp managers and humanitarian organizations should review emergency procedures, strengthen communication with security personnel and prepare contingency plans for the protection of displaced families.
SECURITY RECOMMENDATION: Security agencies are urged to investigate the intelligence, assess possible movements around the Mandara Mountains, strengthen protection for vulnerable communities and IDP camps, and take appropriate preventive measures to avert further attacks.
